How to Sell Closeouts?

We will start with a basic selling venue and move into others at a later date. Depending on your geographic area selling closeouts and customer returns at Flea Markets can be very profitable. Everyone who goes to the flea market is looking for a deal and when you have merchandise that you have purchased at a fraction of the original wholesale price, selling at a flea market makes great sense. There are no limits as to what you can sell at a flea market, again people will by necessities and impulse products…if the price is right.

Spend some time at your local flea market getting ideas concerning what is selling or better yet, what is not available. Joining the band wagon selling apparel might not be the answer if there are already 15-20 vendors. On the other hand if pricing for a particular item is relatively high and you have a source which will allow you to sell at a lower margin and make a profit, I would not be concerned about the competition.

The main concern with selling at Flea Markets will be the traffic flow throughout the market. Obviously, the larger the attendance the more sales you will generate. When evaluating a flea market please take close note of the crowds; visit at different times of the day to see when the customers are visiting and leaving.

Depending on traffic, you might decide that a flea market in a neighboring city might be the better choice for selling your closeouts.
