Liquidation Secrets – Buying Customer Returned Electronics Y & N

If you are actively looking for customer returned electronics you probably have come across offers listing pallets of name brand department store customer returned “Y” and “N” loads. What the heck does that mean?

No fear, the designations simply give you an idea of the type of merchandise you might find in any one particular pallet or load:

N - Stands for National Brands. Brands not specific to Sears. For example brands like Sony, RCA, Phillips, Panasonic, Toshiba and a host of others. The N loads are typically filled with DVD players, stereos, TV’s, answering machines, Boomboxes etc. This is the load you want if reselling on Ebay!

Y - Represents Store brands only. The Y loads usually consist of microwaves, sewing machines, vacuums etc

Danger: With Y loads you must adhere to strict reselling guidelines when it comes to product defacing. You must remove store names, brand names, identification tags, sales tickets, labels, manuals and anything else which might identify where the product originated from. If found to be violating these terms, you the reseller, can be fined in an amount up to $50,000 per occurrence.

Please note the terms listed above are paraphrased, make sure to read and follow all agreements you sign when buying salvage merchandise!

The N pallets and loads are free game as far as reselling, but make sure each item does not have any reference to the original department store which sold it.

Now you are an expert!
