Ordering A Pallet Of Customer returns

Are you ready to order your first pallet of liquidation merchandise? It is very exciting to think of the prospect of buying a pallet and digging through it to see what buried treasure might be found!

But, having the money to purchase and ordering is not the last step, you must prepare for delivery of your customer returned pallet.

Where will you store the pallet?

If you have a warehouse, no problem. Many of you will be buying a pallet and storing it in your garage, especially those who are starting a home based business on eBay. The average pallet is about 48” long by 40” wide and roughly 5 feet tall. Height will vary according to Pallet contents, but length and width will always be the same. Just to give you an idea, when I started buying pallets I had a one car garage. I was able to get six pallets in my garage while the car spent each night outside. It was really a tight fit, but we had no choice.

How will you off load the pallet from the large freight truck?

Make sure the trailer that is delivered to your home has a lift-gate to lower the pallet to ground level. Yes, it will cost extra, but most homeowners do not have a forklift to unload pallets. I believe the going rate for a lift-gate trailer on delivery is about $50-$70

How will you move the pallet around?

This is critical….If you do not have a pallet jack, make sure you are really nice to the delivery driver when asking him to position your pallet in your garage. Make sure you have an area cleared out for the driver to position your pallet.
